The Reggio Emilia approach© for early childhood education in Danang

Danang, 16-18 April 2021 – A series of events dedicated to principals, teachers, educators, devoted to discuss about creative education and illustrate the Reggio Emilia approach© for early childhood education took place in Danang, the main city of central Vietnam.

The conference “Where Magic Ignites”, attended by over 350 educators, principals, authorities, academics in the pedagogical sector with interventions of Claudia Giudici and Marina Castagnetti, respectively President and teacher of Reggio Children, took place on Friday 16 April at the Hilton hotel. The exhibition “No way, the hundred is here” celebrating the legacy of Loris Malaguzzi, founder of the Reggio Emilia approach, whose birth’s hundred anniversary took place in 2020, was showcased during the weekend at both the Hilton hotel and the General Science Library of Danang. Finally, a community workshop on this revolutionary philosophy for early childhood education took place on Sunday at the GS Library, attended by a wider education community, including parents.

The events helped consolidating the diffusion and knowledge of Reggio Children in Vietnam. They followed up similar activities carried out in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City during 2020 and they were organized by Global Embassy Education Vietnam, official representative of Reggio Children in Vietnam, and by VIRES (Vietnam International Reggio Emilia Society), with the support of the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City and in the presence of Consul General Dante Brandi.
