ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2020

HCMC, December 20, 2020 – After the success in Hanoi in November, where the review was curated by the Embassy of Italy, the six films protagonists of the Italian Film Festival 2020, as part of the program of the Italian Cultural Days in the city, also received an excellent reception in Saigon. In the space of three days, between Friday 18 and Sunday 20 December, the Consulate General of Italy at HCMC, in collaboration with COLAB VIETNAM and with the support of Galaxy Cinema Nguyen Du, offered the Saigoneese audience a glimpse of the most recent Italian film productions, selected in collaboration with the Asian Film Festival in Rome, and a tribute-movie to maestro Federico Fellini, on the 100th anniversary of his birth.

The six films screened were: Perfetti Sconosciuti (2016) by Paolo Genovese, Magari (2019) by Ginevra Elkann, Sole (2019) by Carlo Sironi, Ginger and Fred (1986) by Federico Fellini, Bangla (2019) by Phaim Buiyhan, Dafne (2019) by Federico Bondi. Thanks to the active participation of protagonists of the Vietnamese film industry such as the expert Dao Le Na, the directors Do Quoc Trung, Phan Dang Di and Tran Thanh Huy, the critics and influencers Le Hong Lam and Lucas Luan Nguyen, the festival also offered an exchange of impressions between critics and spectators in the theater at the end of each screening, helping to bring the Vietnamese public closer to Italian cinema.
