HCMC, April 2nd, 2018 – Italy and Ho Chi Minh City, the most vibrant Vietnamese city and one of the most vibrant cities at a global level, share the same ambition to intensify the already excellent existing relations. Ways and sectors where to promote this intensification have been at the core of the meeting between Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the People’s Committee of HCMC, and Dante Brandi, newly appointed Consul General of Italy in town.
From academia to economy, from best practices to people-to-people links, many possibilities lies ahead of both parts to foster the existing links. High-level visits of Italian authorities, such as the one of Mr. Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic, in November 2015, have greatly contributed to set up the most appropriate conditions for this relation to grow.
Both Chairman Phong and Consul General Brandi expressed the view many windows of opportunities are open: the attractiveness for Italian investors and economic players is in fact amplified by the favorable business environment and by the recent developments to promote HCMC as a smart city.
