First Italian Design Day in the World

 

The first Italian Design day in the World is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in cooperation with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, the Triennale di Milano, the Associazione per il Disegno industriale, the Fondazione Compasso d’Oro, Milan’s Salone del Mobile and ICE, the Italian Trade Agency, with the involvement of all public and private stakeholders representing top quality Italian design.
The initiative aims at introducing history and trends of Italian design and fostering contamination and knowledge-sharing to promote new international sector partnerships.

 

Italian Design Days in Ho Chi Minh City

-The Art of Lifestyle

The Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City joined the celebrations with the special event “Italian Design Days” organized at HCMC University of Architecture from 2nd to 4th March 2017.
The initiative includes the exhibition “The Art of Lifestyle” and a rich program of presentations, lectures and workshops by Italian designers and brands introducing Italian design in all its different features: interior design, industrial and automotive design, contamination between art and design, architecture, urban planning and sustainable development.
The university campus, transformed into an open air museum of design, offered students and visitors a path for learning about iconic Italian products which made the history of Italian design and materials and forms of more recent design innovations. Specific focus was given to exhibition of chairs and armchairs, showing how the seating creation, design and production patterns have evolved.
The presentations by Italian brands and designers, divided into specific thematic sessions, introduced the concept and creative process behind iconic pieces of Made in Italy and shred the Italian know-how in the field of architecture and urban planning, industrial design and integrated project management.
In the context of the workshops “Sketcmob Lab” by 3TI and “Ariston Sketch” students challenged their creativity, respectively on the topic of HCMC urban planning and industrial design. The program also included an information area on educational opportunities in Italy.
