Update on Typhoon “Kalmaegi”: Risk of flooding

kalmaegi aggiornamento

The Vietnamese authorities have reported that areas along the Saigon River, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City, are facing an increased risk of flooding due to unusually high tides and heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Kalmaegi.

Residents are advised to exercise maximum caution when moving around the city, especially in low-lying or flood-prone areas, to follow the instructions issued by local authorities, and to closely monitor weather updates through the media.

All Italian nationals are encouraged to consult the SECURITY > ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS AND NATURAL DISASTERS section of the Vietnam country sheet and to register their stay in Vietnam on the website www.dovesiamonelmondo.it or through the “Viaggiare Sicuri” App with active geolocation.

The Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City remains reachable at 📞 +84 (0) 778010257 for cases of serious emergency.
