HCMC, May 4th, 2018 – Purity of design and innovation in shapes and materials. The quintessentially Italian excellence in furniture design has been protagonist today in Ho Chi Minh City, in a storytelling presentation by Massimiliano Busnelli and Roberto Barbazza, respectively R&D Director and Marketing Manager of Contract Division of B&B Italia, the iconic Italian furniture brand, founded in 1966.
During the Design Talk #6 “Poetry in the Shape. When design meets industry”, hosted by Eurasia-Concept, partner and importer of Italian high-end furniture brands in Vietnam and South-East Asia and open to Vietnamese designers, interior decorators, experts, lifestyle media, Massimiliano Busnelli –representative of the third-generation of the brand’s founding family- and Roberto Barbazza have reminisced the spirit and evolution of B&B Italia, which includes also Maxalto furniture line, and which is today owned by the Italian private equity fund InvestIndustrial, whose portfolio includes also other iconic furniture brands like Flos (lighting) and ArcLinea (kitchens). Busnelli and Barbazza have also showcased the recent collections presented by B&B Italia at the recent Salone del Mobile in Milan, the most important furniture exhibition in Europe and one of the most important at a global level, which took place last April 17-22.
The event has been opened by the Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr Dante Brandi. In his introductory remarks, he stressed how B&B Italia marked the time of the contemporary furniture design production both in Italy and on a global scale. B&B Italia has in fact partnered with the most prominent designer in the international scene over the last decades, such as Ettore Sottsass, Mario Bellini, Antonio Citterio, Piero Lissoni, Zaha Hadid, Gaetano Pesce, Jean-Marie Massaud, Patricia Urquiola, just to name a few. Consul General Brandi said that with its inspirational creativity and productive excellence, B&B Italia has constantly represented a benchmark for quality design furniture at a global level: a sprit, which is very well received in a young and dynamic market such as Vietnam, increasingly open to embrace the Italian lifestyle.
