The Consulate General of Italy in HCMC is relatively young. It was opened in 2014. Its jurisdiction comprises the south-half of Vietnam. It has to face many challenges. First, it is a point of reference for the Italian community and for the Vietnamese citizens interested into Italy. Second, it operates in a very dynamic city, the sixth most dynamic city in the world, with an average population age under 30-years old.
To reach this audience, which is different by culture, language and generation, the Consulate General is very active on the social media, where it drives most part of its communication. It is also very active in public diplomacy, in order to promote Italy, its university system, its productive and economic system, its quality of life, to the Vietnamese millennials.
