HCMC mobilized to raise awareness of plastic pollution!
Last Saturday the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee held a “clean-up day 2019” in HCMC.
The event is part of the campaign #countdownplastic and aims at engaging with the local government on plastic pollution.
After performances and a brief panel discussion on solutions for plastic waste, Consulate General delegates and city leaders handed out reusable cloth bags to Ben Thanh market shop keepers. In the meanwhile, hundreds of volunteers joined their efforts to clean-up the 23rd of September Park.
The Consulate General of Italy is at the forefront of HCMC community commitment to raise awareness and reduce plastic waste in the city. Along with other CGs, public entities and private sector groups, the Consulate General of Italy has banned plastic use in its premises.
