December 21, the winter solstice, is known as the shortest day of the year: the hours of light, between sunrise and sunset, are less than any day on the calendar. For that reason, the winter solstice is the day we celebrate short films, with screening in cinemas, events, and festivals all over the world. December 21 is therefore called “SHORT FILM DAY”.
The Short Film Day is an opportunity to discover the world of short film production, which very rarely can be enjoyed in cinemas. In fact, short films are restricted to the festival circuit or special events and are not easily accessible to the general public.
This year the Italian Short Film Center proposes six Italian short films, that have distinguished themselves in representing the best and most recent short production. All of them can be screened only in Italian Diplomatic Missions abroad for a unique, unmissable event.
