ECONOMIC DYNAMISM AND BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN THE PROVINCE OF BA RIA-VUNG TAU

Ba Ria – Vung Tau, 3rd February 2020 – Tourism, manufacturing, oil & gas, shipbuilding. These are the leading sectors of the dynamic coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, in southern Vietnam, where Consul General Dante Brandi went to participate in the annual meeting between businesses and investors organized by local authorities and to visit the steel plant of Pomina Steel, whose machinery is supplied by the Italian Tenova (Techint group).

Representatives from over 200 Vietnamese and international companies active in the province took part in the Enterprises and Investors Meeting 2020. It provided an opportunity to renew the commitment of the heads of the provincial administration – the secretary of the local Communist Party Nguyen Hong Linh was present – to improve the business climate and consolidate the ability to attract investments in this dynamic province.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau is already a destination for Italian production sites such as SV Clean Energy, GT Line Asia and Fincantieri, as well as the headquarters of Pomina Steel, a relevant player in the local steel market and Tenova’s customer since its opening in 1999.

On this occasion, Consul General Brandi was able to visit the most recent plate mill supplied by the Italian group, which today allow Pomina to consolidate its position in the supply of construction steels for both the local market and for export.
