National Visa for Family Reasons (Type D)<\/h3>\n

Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Foreign family members of Italian or EU citizens seeking to travel to Italy for family reunification may apply for a national visa for \u201cfamily reasons\u201d.<\/p>\n

Eligible family members include:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n
      \n
    1. Spouses<\/li>\n
    2. Partners: A partner in a registered partnership with the Union citizen, as recognized by the legislation of an EU Member State, provided the host Member State equates the registered partnership to marriage and the partnership complies with the relevant legal requirements of the host Member State.<\/li>\n
    3. Descendants: direct descendants under the age of 21, dependents and those of the spouse or partner.<\/li>\n
    4. Direct Ascendants, including ascendants of spouses and legally recognized partners.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Additionally, adopted children, adoptive parents subject to permanent guardianship or foster care as specified by Law 184\/83 are also considered as direct descendants or ascendants.<\/p>\n

      Family members must apply for a residence permit for \u201cfamily reasons\u201d within eight working days of entering Italy by completing the appropriate application kit at the Post Office.<\/p>\n

      Where to apply<\/u><\/p>\n

      Applications for National Visas (type \u201cD\u201d) must be submitted in person at the Visa Office of the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City.<\/p>\n

      1. National Visa Application <\/strong>Form<\/strong><\/a>:<\/strong> Completed and signed.<\/li>\n
      2. Online Application Form: Completed, printed and signed.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        To expedite the processing of visa applications, applicants are required to complete the visa applications using the E-@application platform, accessible via the following link: http:\/\/e-applicationvisa.esteri.it\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n

        Instructions for completing the online form:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

        On the \u201cTravel Details<\/u>\u201d screen, complete the following fields:<\/p>\n

        under \u201cMain purpose of the trip<\/u>\u201d: always select\u00a0TOURISM.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        under \u201cNumber of entries requested<\/u>\u201d: select\u00a0One.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        under \u201cDuration of stay or transit. Indicate the days<\/u>\u201d: enter\u00a030.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        The Visa Office will subsequently modify the type of visa, duration and number of entries as appropriate.<\/p>\n

        Please note that this platform allows you to complete the application form online, but it does not support online submission. Applicants must print and sign the E-@application and submit it together with the barcodes generated from the encrypted data and the following documents.<\/p>\n

          1. One (1) recent ICAO-standard passport-sized photograph <\/strong>(3.5×4.0cm), not digitally altered. Affix one photo to the application form.<\/li>\n
          2. Passport <\/strong>must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure date from the Schengen area and that it was issued within the last 10 years ago. The passport must have at least two consecutive blank pages for the visa and stamps.<\/li>\n
          3. Certificate of stable residency<\/strong> in Vietnam.<\/li>\n
          4. Flight<\/strong> booking or ticket<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          5. A copy of the passport<\/strong>\u2019s identification page (second page).<\/li>\n
          6. Letter of invitation<\/strong> from the Italian\/EU family member, indicating the intention to exercise the right to family reunification, along with a valid identity document.<\/li>\n
          7. Civil status documentation<\/strong> certifying the status of family member pursuant to art. 2 of Legislative Decree 30\/2007 translated and legalized, or marriage or civil union certificate transcribed in Italy.<\/li>\n
          8. Proof of economic dependency<\/strong>, if applicable, showing evidence of financial support the Italian\/EU citizen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
