A study visa is required for individuals planning to travel to Italy for a short-term study, vocational/professional training or internships.
Required Documents:
- A completed and signed Visa Application Form.
- One (1) recent ICAO-standard passport-sized photograph (3.5×4.0cm), not digitally altered. Affix one photo to the application form.
- A Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the expiry date of Schengen visa or the intended departure date from the Schengen area and that it was issued less than 10 years ago. The passport must have at least two consecutive blank pages for the visa and stamps.
- Certificate of stable residency in Vietnam (for non-Vietnamese citizens).
- A completed registration on the Universitaly platform.
- An invitation letter from the Italian Institute, University or Agency. The invitation must be addressed directly to the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, at hochiminh.visti@esteri.it. Important: Applications will not be accepted without prior email submission of the invitation letter.
- Return flight booking or ticket.
- Proof of Financial Supports for the entire study period in Italy including personal bank statements, income tax returns, certificate of tax payment. Note that bank savings accounts are not acceptable for demonstrating personal income.
- Proof of accommodation in Italy: Hotel reservation or documentation for prepaid or complimentary accommodation in Italy.
- Health insurance: coverage of at least €30,000 for emergency medical expenses and repatriation.
- A copy of the passport’s identification page (second page), along with any pages containing Schengen or Italian visa stamps.
- Additional Supporting Documents: Applicants may submit any further documentation as needed or requested by the Visa Office.
