“Fare Cinema” 2021 (14-20 June)

From 14 to 20 June 2021, the fourth edition of “Fare Cinema“, the initiative dedicated to the Italian cinema abroad promoted by the Farnesina in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, ANICA, ICE Agency and Istituto Luce – Cinecittà, takes place also in Vietnam. The initiative includes, on Saturday 19 June, the celebration of the second World Day of Italian Cinema.

This year, “Fare Cinema”‘s title will be “Reboot – Italian cinema restarts”, to underline the extraordinary capacity of the Italian film industry to react to the pandemic.

“REBOOT – ITALIAN CINEMA RESTARTS” and “THE NEW EMBRACE OF CINEMA: FROM PANDEMIC TO SET”

In collaboration with Fondazione Cinema per Roma, a collection of short video-clips with interviews of the protagonists of Italian cinema dedicated to the crafts of cinema and the ability to respond to the pandemic of the Italian film industry. Videos are subtitled in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian and Cinese.

DAVID DI DONATELLO AWARDS – BEST SHORT FILM

In collaboration with the Accademia del cinema italiano and ANICA, screening of the five finalists in the “Best Short Film” category of the David di Donatello Awards 2021.

CORTI D’AUTORE

In collaboration with ANICA, screening of six original short films: “Noi italiani parliamo con le mani” by Carlo Poggioli; “Dolente Bellezza” by Roberto Recchioni; “Guardami cosi'” by Edoardo De Angelis; “Rigoletto a Circo Massimo” by Enrico Parenti; “Azione” by Manlio Castagna; “Il sole e le altre stelle” by Caterina Carone. With subtitles in English, French, Spanish and Italian.

FROM BOOK TO SCREEN

In collaboration with the Salone del Libro di Torino, screening of three documentaries on the creation of television series based on successful books (the saga of “Commissario Montalbano” by Andrea Camilleri, “Gomorra” by Roberto Saviano and “L’amica geniale” by Elena Ferrante). With English subtitles.

“MYMOVIES” PLATFORM (https://www.mymovies.it/ondemand/iic)

CON LA MACCHINA DA PRESA

In collaboration with True Colors, screening of five recent Italian movies: “Fortuna” by Nicolangelo Gelormini (2020); “Il vizio della speranza” by Edoardo De Angelis (2018); “Sembra mio figlio” by Costanza Quatriglio (2018); “I moschettieri del re” by Giovanni Veronesi (2018); “Il sindaco del rione Sanità” by Mario Martone (2019), all with English, Italian and French Spanish subtitles. Each movie will be accessible for free up to a maximum of 500 people per country: viewers will be able to see the movie by simply creating an account on the platform.

BIOPIC TV

In collaboration with RAI.com and MoviHeart, screening of the biopic fiction “Enrico Piaggio, un sogno italiano” (2019) with Alessio Boni and Violante Placido, dedicated to the life of the Tuscan entrepreneur who created the Vespa, and “Luisa Spagnoli” (2016) with Luisa Ranieri, a two-part TV miniseries based on the biography of the founder of Perugina. Both with English subtitles.
