VISIT OF THE CONSULAR CORP TO THE PHU YEN PROVINCE AND INSTITUTIONAL MEETINGS

Phu Yen, 27-29 April 2021 – Tourism, cultural heritage, aquaculture, agro-business, energy, infrastructures, technology transfer and training, all within a framework of sustainable development, aimed at maintaining the pristine beauty of this province on the central-southern coast of Vietnam.

These were the main themes discussed during the three days of meetings, visits and conferences, organized by the Departments for External Relations of the People’s Committees of HCMC and Phu Yen, in the presence of the highest authorities of the province for a large group of accredited Honorary and General Consuls to HCMC and Danang.

The fact-finding mission, which was also attended by the Deputy Foreign Minister To Anh Dung, allowed to expand the knowledge of this promising area of ​​the country, to visit some of its most characteristic sites, and to discuss initiatives for economic promotion and attraction of investments consistent with the local strategic development plans.

Thanks to a visit by Ambassador Alessandro, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, in September 2019, Italy had already developed academic, economic and technological collaborations with the province, thanks to the relations established by the Mien Trung University of Civil Engineering with Italian counterparts universities, thanks to missions and B2B meetings between Italian operators in the food packaging and processing sector, and thanks to the program for the prevention of extreme wether events at national level, which provided and deployed a network of detectors and data control units also in the water basins of this coastal area.

The visit of Consul General Brandi on this occasion provided a good opportunity to consolidate this ongoing cooperation and discuss about potential new ones, for example in the yachting sector.
