Awarding the honor of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy to Dr. Pier Federico Barocco in Hoi An

HCMC, 15th December 2020 – During the visit to Hoi An, the Consul General Dante Brandi bestowed to Dr. Pier Federico Barocco with the honor of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy for his contribution to the discovery and enhancement of extraordinary archaeological sites, a World Heritage Site, in Laos, Myanmar and, in particular, in Vietnam, where on the My Son site he also contributed to the creation of the first restoration school in central Vietnam together with the Italian institutions. On the same day, He took part in the commendable initiative of the “Italian Excellence Night” in Hoi An, the dinner with authentic Italian specialties organized by Pescarolo Sauces (Hoi An), TorinoBakery&Reataurant (DaNang) and Pizzeria Cardi (Hoi An) aims to raise funds for the Gie Trieng communities of Phuoc Son affected by the recent floods and landslides, through the Vietnamese Children’s Education Foundation (CEF).
