Mad in Italy: Vietnam Tour 2019 in Saigon. A captivating performance by Mezzotono singing band, on the occasion of the World Week of Italian Cuisine in HCMC and South-Vietnam

HCMC, November 20th, 2019. Five voices, zero instruments, one night only! With this formula, the Italian Mezzotono singing band has performed yesterday in Saigon at the Soul Live Project hall, in a concert organized by the Consulate General of Italy in HCMC on the occasion of the World Week of Italian Cuisine in the World. The concert was part of the “Mad in Italy – Vietnam Tour” and offered a captivating performance, with no musical instruments. The five extraordinary Italian singers, Fabio Lepore, Tania Pugliese, Daniela Desideri, Gigi Nardiello and Alessandro Gnolfo, performed “a cappella”, showcasing the immense expressive potential of their fantastic voices, able to accompanying the melody as authentic musical instruments.

In front of over 200 people, the “Small Italian Orchestra Without instruments”, as Mezzotonos love to describe themselves, performed an articulated repertoire: from pop music to jazz, from swing to mambo and from folk to classical music. The Mezzotono added a very effective capacity to entertain and involve the public, in a very successful performance.

The event offered not only music. On the occasion of the World Week of Italian Cuisine, spectators were able to taste authentic Italian street food, served by Italian local restaurants before and during the concert.

In addition to the live performance at Soul Live Project, Mezzotono will arrange a cameo performance tonight in the thematic dinner “12 mani in pasta”, organized also on the occasion of the World Week of Italian Cuisine at the Romeo&Juliet Restaurant in Saigon. They also arranged a workshop on their musical endeavor to the Vietnamese students of the Italian Department at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities of Ho Chi Minh City.
