VISIT OF THE PRIME MINISTER OF ITALY TO VIETNAM

On Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th June Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte paid an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, where he participated in the Third edition of the High-level Dialogue on Italy-Asean economic relations.

On the first day, Prime Minister Conte met with Vietnamese Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, with whom he later made joint statements to the press. He then spoke at the event “The Smart and Circular Economy”, which was organized by ICE-Italian Trade Agency.

Subsequently, Prime Minister Conte met with the Chairwoman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and he intervened together with the Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Commerce in the reception for the 73rd Italian Republic Day, visiting the
exhibition “Italy: The beauty of knowledge “, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and carried out by the National Council for Researches at the Hanoi Museum.

During the second day of the visit, Prime Minister Conte delivered a speech at the opening session of the Third edition of the High-level Dialogue on Italy-Asean economic relations. Later he laid a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and visited the Temple of Literature. Finally, he held a press briefing at the end of his visit to Casa Italia.
