CONSULAR VISIT IN DANANG

The diffusion of Italian teaching at university level, an update with the City Authorities on the dynamism of the Danang economy, a briefing with the local Italian visa desk and an exchange with the small but lively Italian community in town and in Central Vietnam.

These were the highlights of the visit made by the Consul General of Italy, Dante Brandi, to Danang, last December 12th. Accompanied by Mr Andrea Zampolli, chief of the visa section, Consul General Brandi has met with the Vice President of the Danang People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Van Mien; with the Vice Rector of the University of Foreign Language Studies in Danang, Prof. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong; with the executives in charge of the local Italian desk of the visa outsourcing company VFS Global and, in conclusion, with representatives of the Italian community in town and in nearby coast cities of Central Vietnam.

The visit has been instrumental to further develop actions to promote a closer cooperation between Italy and the third largest Vietnamese city, both in tourism and manufacturing sectors. It has also put the basis to renew the possibility of having Italian classes at the University of Danang. With the Italian community, the Consul General discussed about the perspectives of business developments in tourism and manufacturing sector in Central Vietnam, with potential implication for Italian businesses.
